Just get back one day,
Then gone soon after
Left with just memories
Of your warmth and laughter
Pictures fill the walls
Of things that have past
What I wouldn't give
To make those moments last
How I wish to have
Your body next to mine
Just one simple little kiss
Only one last time
I know I should be happy
As you go to save the world
Because I know when you come home
I'm still going to be your girl
But some times I need super-powers
To last me while you're gone
I have to keep myself together
For you, I must be strong
I wait for those calls,
That I know may never take place
And I hate it, that I don't know
The next time I'll see your face
I'll count the days, the weeks, the months
Till the day you arrive
As I run into your arms
And again finally feel alive
But until that day comes
I will wait here for you
Because being a military girlfriend
It's part of what I do
Distance may separate us
Time can go on forever
No matter the measurement
Eventually we'll be together
